Resilient Rural Belize Programme

The Government of Belize through the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment has received financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards the cost of Resilient Rural Belize Programme, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the recruitment of consulting services provided by an individual consultant as part of the post of Rural Organization Development Officer.
The Rural Organization Development Officer (RODO) will be a member of the PMU and will be responsible for the successful strengthening of rural producers’ organizations. S/He will supervise and receive support from a consulting firm that has been contracted to help carry out the capacity building programme. The RODO Specialist and consultants will work closely together with officers from the Department of Co-operatives in order to strengthen the officers’ capacities and create synergy with other activities being carried out by the department.
The Rural Organization Development Officer will lead the implementation of the programme´s strategy for Social Inclusion and Gender Equality, including identifying and implementing affirmative actions designed to address gender inequalities and help members of disadvantaged or more vulnerable groups to overcome obstacles to equal access to development opportunities. The duration of the assignment is for a period of two (2) years.
